FAQ
WatchVault is a private digital vault for your watches. Each watch gets its own record with photos, specifications, purchase details and documents such as receipts, warranty cards and service invoices — so everything is organized in one place. Read why we built it.
Yes — WatchVault is currently free to use. You can catalog your entire collection, upload documents and photos, export PDF reports, and set up Legacy Access at no cost, with no credit card required.
Yes. Sensitive fields — serial numbers, purchase prices, and location data — are encrypted at the application level before storage, and uploaded documents are encrypted as well. All traffic is protected by HTTPS/TLS. Your data is never shared.
Only you. Your vault is private to your account. The one exception is Legacy Access, where you choose a trusted contact and give them read-only access.
Brand, model, reference and serial number, purchase date and price, condition, notes, multiple photos, and documents such as receipts, warranty cards, certificates and service records.
Generate a PDF report from your vault with the details, photos and documentation of the watch. Having the serial number, reference and proof of purchase ready makes it much easier to work with the police and your insurer.
Legacy Access lets you grant a trusted contact read-only access to your vault — useful for estate planning, or so that a family member can find your watches' documentation if they ever need it. Invite your contact by email from Settings, and revoke access at any time.
Start a record for it in your vault with photos and whatever details you can find, then add documents as you gather them — for example after a service or valuation. From then on, its history stays organized for the next owner.
You can export insurance-ready PDF reports for your whole collection or a single watch, and import or export your collection as CSV/Excel — including a downloadable import template if you’re moving from a spreadsheet.
Request an insurance quote or a valuation for any watch directly from your vault. Requests go to our team, who follow up by email.
Not at all. WatchVault works for any watch you care about, from a first automatic to a grail piece, and for collections of any size.
